So, it’s been a while since I actually posted an update here. There’s a good reason for it. I had a baby (he’s been taking up a lot of my time as well he should) but I wanted to take a little time here now to reflect on what’s happened in my writing life recently.

Firstly, in case you missed it, FATED MATES hit the USA Today Bestseller List in the 111th spot. yep, all of our hard work paid off. I wont’ lie, it was a long nine month process to get to where we ended up but I definitely learned a lot about marketing and what it takes to hit a list. Do I think I can do it on my own with one of my solo titles? Probably not. But, I did gain a ton of new writer friends and even found some trusted new service providers to make the books I put out from now on even better. I also learned a lot about writing collaboratively. It takes a lot of trust to share the whole writing process with another person but I’m so glad that Molly and I were finally able to do it. We had a ton of fun creating the Captivity-verse and are so pleased we were able to release all three books in the trilogy this summer (book 3, Eternity, comes out in three days).

I’ve also just released the last book in the Evolutionary Romance young adult trilogy. I’ll be honest, I’d had high hopes that the boxed set book 1 was in would give me a big boost for books 2 and 3 but that hasn’t really happened. The set sort of fell by the wayside and just wasn’t as profitable as we’d all hoped. But I’ll be taking some of what I learned from FATED MATES and applying it to the trilogy when i re-release book 1 next month. Hopefully that will give me a little more of a boost for the series as a whole.

I’m also really excited to launch a new cozy trilogy this month. I really liked creating the character of Margot Quade and delving into her world for a little bit. If all goes well, I’ll be releasing a complete boxed set with a bonus short story fans of the Geeks and Things series won’t want to miss.

So yeah, that’s pretty much what I’ve been up t this summer. Just releasing a ton of books and learning to be a mom. It’s a work in progress (as is book 2 in the Seasons of Magic series). I know I’ll find a balance eventually. After all, I have so many more books to write!
